fivefivefour client, Citizens for Election Integrity Minnesota, is mobilizing volunteers to observe the Minnesota US Senate Recount. The 2008 Minnesota Senate election will go to a recount later this month. Due to the work of CEIMN, and many other election audit advocacy groups, Minnesota is well positioned to conduct the recount.
CEIMN.org is powered by Drupal with CiviCRM used to acquire and manage CEIMN's volunteers. The Minnesota post-election audit occurs in all 87 counties and audits approximately 5% of the ballots cast in each statewide election cycle. CEIMN volunteers sign up on the CEIMN website and then CEIMN staff use the website to manage the volunteers. The website is used as a vehicle to organize volunteers throughout the entire state of Minnesota in an efficient and effective manner. Each volunteer must be trained on how to observe an audit and this along with other information on individual volunteers is tracked using CiviCRM.
The first election audit in Minnesota was conducted in 2006. fivefivefour worked with CEIMN since that first election audit to improve the content and management of that content on the website so that CEIMN's volunteers were in the loop as the 2008 election audit neared.
Citizens for Election Integrity of Minnesota has partnered with fivefivefour since 2005 to create a web presence that highlights their important work and to help CEIMN organize hundreds of volunteers throughout Minnesota.
